The King returns: Nokia is back!

Good evening everyone!

Today, I come to you with some astounding news. If you go by the title, then you probably already know that Nokia is back!

On Friday, a number of invitations were sent out by Nokia India inviting people for a very exclusive gathering on the 13th of June, 2017. Going by the invitation, it’s pretty obvious to guess what’s coming.

Nokia had already during the second week of May, launched the rebooted version of the Nokia 3310 at an attractive price tag of Rs. 3,310 which has been met with an exceptional response from people in general.

If you don’t know what’s coming next, let me enlighten you. Going by what Nokia had shown us during Mobile World Congress (It’s an annual exhibition of phones and other related technology in Barcelona just like Computex), we have firm reason to believe that on the 13th, Nokia will be launching 3 new devices in India namely, the Nokia 3, the Nokia 5 and the Nokia 6.

All the above phones are made in partnership with HMD Global (Nokia’s new hardware partner) and all these devices are powered by the latest and greatest Android 7, Nougat (Oh and as recently announced, Android “O” is also coming to these devices!).

For a detailed spec by spec analysis, one can look at the links for the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6  respectively. From the price point of view, expect the Nokia 3 to be targeted at the Rs. 8,000-10,000 markup, the Nokia 5 at the Rs. 11,000 to 13,000 markup and the Nokia 6 at the Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 18,000 markup. The highlighting features of the Nokia 3,5 and 6 is that each of these devices are guaranteed regular software and security updates (which is a misnomer for most Android devices), aside from the fact that all these devices come with unlimited photo uploads in high quality to Google Photos (which is a unique feature of Google’s own Pixel device lineup) and also many other unique features in tow.

Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri had recently stated that India is a very important market for Nokia as a brand and how it performs in India will be its benchmark for the rest of the world. So you can expect that, “A LOT” is riding on Nokia to make the commercial launch of the Nokia 3,5 and 6 a huge success. All 3 devices have already begun pre-orders in the UK and the Nokia 6 has been out in China for a while now & in both places, Nokia has received an amazing response from the consumers at large.

Now, only time will tell how Nokia fares in India after its commercial launch on the 13th.

And that pretty much sums up this post! If you like this post, please feel free to share it amongst your friends and if you have any suggestions and/or queries, don’t forget to leave a comment. Until next time!
